Rupert Murdoch is an 84 year-old Australian-American business mogul who is the CEO of the FOX network. Murdoch makes intermittent appearances in the news as a result of scandals or bad press and other reasons.

However, he seems to be ready to pass on the torch to someone else. The person who is next to take his chair as CEO is his son James Murdoch. This change will be effective the 1st of July this year.

Senior Murdoch became a businessman when he inherited an Australian news network from his father in the 1950’s. He is about to do the same for his son James next month by passing on the billion dollar business.

Rupert Murdoch is very confident indeed about his company going in the right hands. He said in a statement that,

“It has always been our priority to ensure stable, long term leadership for the company, and these appointments achieve that goal. Lachlan and James are each talented and accomplished executives and together, we, as shareholders and partners, will strive to take our company to new levels of growth and opportunity at a time of dynamic change in our industry.”
