According to Brussels-based sources, the European Commission anticipates Germany’s economic growth at 0.2% and Italy’s at 1.2%.
The Commission will release spring forecasts at 0900 GMT on Monday.
Germany’s 0.2% GDP growth forecast matches the Commission’s February forecast but is lower than Berlin’s 0.4% forecast from last month.
La Stampa reports that the Commission expects the euro zone’s largest economy to grow 1.4% next year, up from 1.3% in February.
Brussels’ 1.2% Italy projection is higher than the Rome government’s 1.0% and up from February’s 0.8% estimate.
La Stampa said that Brussels expects Italian growth to be 1.1% next year, up from 1.0% in February.
The article said the Commission would forecast eurozone GDP “slightly above” 0.9% this year.
