Nikola which reported that the number of hydrogen-fuel cell trucks it delivered increased by 80 percent in the second quarter compared to the previous three months. This result exceeded the expectations of the startup and indicated that there is a high demand for large rigs in the midst of Nikola’s transition away from battery-powered cars.
Tuesday’s premarket trade saw an almost four percent increase in the value of the company’s shares. More than seventy percent of the stock’s value has been lost so far in this year.
The company exceeded its sales projection of between 50 and 60 trucks by delivering 72 Class 8 Nikola hydrogen fuel cell trucks to wholesalers during the quarter that concluded on June 30. This is a significant increase from the previous quarter’s delivery of 40 trucks by the same company.
