On Saturday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN.O) had revamped its logistics network to minimize shipping distances and increase profits.

According to executives, analysts, and Amazon sellers, the online retailer has improved shipping times, inventory management, and search results on its primary e-commerce website.

Other online businesses have cut home delivery and return prices during slow consumer demand.

Amazon announced this week that U.S. shoppers could pick up purchases for $10. After rapid growth, the company has cut delivery costs across the board.

Reuters received no response from Amazon.
