On Tuesday, 20-06-2023, Bloomberg News reported that Alphabet Inc.’s (GOOGL.O) Google had begun early talks with domestic suppliers to relocate some Pixel smartphone manufacturers to India.

After China’s COVID-19 limitations slowed production, tech companies looked to India as a manufacturing hub.

Foxconn (2317. TW), a supplier to Apple (AAPL.O), started making iPhones in India earlier this month.

According to Bloomberg, Google has spoken to Lava International Ltd (LAVA.NS), Dixon Technologies India (DIXO.NS), and Foxconn Technology Group’s Indian unit Bharat FIH.

Lava, Dixon, Bharat FIH, and Alphabet did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
