London’s FTSE 100 climbed early Wednesday as investors remained cautious ahead of U.S. inflation data and Federal Reserve minutes, which might affect Bank of England monetary policy.
The blue-chip FTSE 100 (.FTSE) increased 0.1% at 0703 GMT, while the mid-cap FTSE 250 (.FTMC) remained steady.
Today’s inflation data and Fed minutes will influence U.S. interest rate hikes after last week’s excellent job report.
Governor Andrew Bailey will follow.
Hikma Pharmaceuticals Plc (HIK.L) declined 0.8% after selecting injectables president Riad Mishlawi CEO.
