Perplexity AI has completed its most recent fundraising round, which resulted in the acquisition of $73.6 million from a consortium of investors. These investors include the American chip designer Nvidia (NVDA.O) and the creator of Amazon (AMZN.O.), Jeff Bezos. The transaction values the artificial intelligence firm at $520 million.
The announcement was made on Thursday by the firm in San Francisco, California, that Institutional Venture Partners was the lead investor in the round.
Perplexity AI announced that the most recent fundraising will assist client adoption and worldwide development. The company had secured $25.6 million in March of the previous year in a round-headed by New Enterprise Associates.
According to a blog post by Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, the company handled more than half a billion requests in 2023, equivalent to around fifty percent of Microsoft Bing Chat.
The search capabilities provided by Perplexity make it possible for users to obtain immediate, trustworthy answers to inquiries along with references and citations.
