Volkswagen is based in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. Established in 1937 by the German Labour Front under the Nazi Party and revitalized into a global brand by British Army Officer Ivan Hirst after World War II.

The VW Group, the world’s largest automaker in 2016 and 2017, is recognized for its Beetle and namesake brand.
China accounts for 40% of the company’s revenues and profits. Volk-Wagen means “people’s automobile” in German.

Volkswagen Group (VOWG p.DE) is constructing its manufacturing facility in the United States for its new Scout brand, according to corporate sources, industry newspaper Automobilwoche said on Friday.

In May 2022, Volkswagen announced that it intended to relaunch the Scout off-road brand. In 2026, a new, independent firm will be established to produce Scout trucks and SUVs for American consumers.
