A police official said two individuals were gravely injured Tuesday after shots were fired near a German primary school in Bramsche, northwestern Germany.

The official stated the incident near Martinusschule elementary school was unconnected.

Bild, a mass-circulation newspaper, said that police captured the gunman after witnesses reported the event at 7.30 a.m. (0630 GMT).
