On Wednesday, Hilton Food (HFG.L) announced that ex-Co-operative Group CEO Steve Murrells would succeed Philip Heffer.

Hilton Food, which supplies supermarkets with meat and ready-to-eat meals, said Heffer, its CEO since 2018, will step down, and Murrells will take over on July 3.

After five years as CEO of Co-op Group, Britain’s seventh-largest grocery company, Murrells retired last year.

The 57-year-old was Hilton Food’s first client and business partner at Tesco over 30 years ago (TSCO.L).

Hilton Food’s management transition after a 3.3% drop in yearly adjusted operating profit of 71.1 million pounds (approximately $89 million) owing to seafood inflation.

Notwithstanding inflation, Co-Op Group maintained its 2022 operating profit at 100 million pounds on Wednesday.
