Beyoncé has officially become a billionaire, according to Forbes, making her the fifth musician to achieve this milestone alongside Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, and her husband Jay-Z, whose net worth is listed at $2.5bn (£1.85bn).

Earlier this month, Forbes had valued her fortune at $800m (£593m) and predicted she would surpass the billionaire mark after years of success. Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour alone grossed nearly $600m, cementing her status as one of the world’s top pop icons.

Beyoncé also produced a concert film from the tour, her first solo outing in seven years, distributed via a direct deal with AMC theaters, netting her nearly half of the $44m (£33m) global box office.

Her 2024 album, Cowboy Carter, which explores and celebrates the Black roots of country music, won Album of the Year at the Grammys, marking her first win despite four prior nominations. The album’s tour, featuring guest appearances from Jay-Z, two of their children, and former Destiny’s Child members, generated over $400m in ticket sales and an additional $50m from merchandise.

While some ticket sales were slow—leading promoters to reduce prices—the tour still broke records at venues like Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and Stade de France in Paris. Top ticket prices reached £950, with the cheapest at £71.

Beyoncé also earned an estimated $50m from a Netflix halftime show for the Christmas Day NFL game, plus $10m from Levi’s commercials.

While Bloomberg’s billionaire index included Selena Gomez with $1.3bn (£962m), Forbes estimates her net worth at $700m (£518m).

Beyoncé continues to redefine success in music, business, and culture, cementing her place among the most influential and wealthy artists in the world.
