The Israeli military is probing the attack and why its defenses missed the ‘aerial target’.

According to reports, Yemen’s Houthi organization claimed responsibility for a drone attack in Tel Aviv that killed one and injured at least 10.

Houthi armed forces spokesperson posted on social media on Friday claimed Iran-aligned group had “targeted ‘Tel Aviv’ in occupied Palestine”.

The Israeli military claimed it was investigating the massive explosion near the US diplomatic office in the city to investigate why its air defense systems were not activated to intercept the “aerial target”.

“We’re talking about a large UAV [Unmanned Aerial Vehicle] that can fly large distances,” a military official told a briefing for journalists following the hit. Not ruling out any possibilities right now.”

The Israeli military posted on social media that its air force has intensified patrols to “protect the country’s skies”.

Israeli police said a man’s body was located in an apartment near the explosion and is being examined.

The blast scene footage showed broken glass on walkways as crowds gathered near a structure with blast damage. Police tape blocked the spot.
