Abeg is a financial app that helps individuals in Nigeria to send and receive money. The user creates a free account using the mobile app. The company validates the user’s BVN and system algorithms fetches your phone number.

For anyone who has activated the Abeg app, it’s now possible to send money requests, using your contact list. Also, you will have a chance to fill in the second party username and a request will be sent. If you want to do more transactions like sending and withdrawing money from a bank account, then you have to link them. Make sure the money is in your Abeg wallet before any transaction.

Co-founders

Muheez Akanni, Dare Adekoya and Michael Okoh are the co-founders of the popular app Abeg. In most cases, Adekoya is said to be the origin of that idea. He is a programmer as well as an app developer. Dare worked with Sterling bank and Voyance as a product designer. Furthermore, he joined Swip Max as a product manager.

The CEO also got engaged with other top Nigerian companies on contract deals. Among them are OneOS, Stanbic IBTC, and Bruuk Oil Mill. They started working on the app during the pandemic. Together with Akanni Muheeze, they launched Abeg app in September 2020.

How Legit in Abeg Application

Big Brothers Nigeria sponsored the firm. The app has become popular not only in Nigeria but in the whole of Africa. The company has partnered with VFD MFD. To add to that, the app links with BVN. This means that they have collaborated with the Nigerian Commercial banks. Also, the Central bank is aware of the Abeg project.

For any app to be a Google store, it must meet some qualifications. Abegg is found in both the AppStore and Playstore. The native app has millions of downloads across Nigeria. The app went viral in the first month of launching. If it wasn’t legit, then Google and Apple would have denied their stores hosting the app.

Learn to download and Use Abeg

Visit your Google Playstore and download the app, which is less than 50 MBS. If you are an iPhone user, then the Apple Store got you covered. The installation process is simple and direct. Even iPads and tablets follow the same process. In addition, if you don’t want to install the app, their website is also responsive to use.

Registering for the Abeg App

Once the app is installed, there is an option to learn how to use the app. Follow these simple instructions and make sure you don’t skip any crucial asterisk space. The required details are email address, BVN, birth certificate, name, and phone number. Due to security reasons and identification, you need to upload a fit image, the size of your passport.

Since there is a connection between the app and commercial banks, it’s essential to provide matching details with your BVN. Else the registration will not be successful. Registration takes less than 5 minutes, and you are ready to do any transaction immediately.

Difference between Nigerian Naira and Abeg naira

The Nigerian currency goes by the name Naira. If you make any transaction and the money stays in your application, it’s referred to as Abeg Naira. However, it has a similar value to the Nigerian currency. Most people have made the name popular because of Big Brother Naija, who have heavily invested in mobile applications.
Inside the Big Brother house, you are allowed to use the app to purchase any foodstuff of your choice. Also, they allow purchasing any other house items. At this point, the Abeg Naira costs differently while shopping inside the house. But when you step outside the Big Brother house, the value remains the same as Nigerian Naira.

How to Find my Abeg Wallet

The company has many agents in the cities. But the process has been made simple. Just use your credit card to deposit some money into the wallet. Copy your credit account number and make transactions to Abeg wallet. You can then wait for a few minutes and the deposit will reflect in your wallet.
