Anya Taylor-Joy Drops Bombshell: Married Malcolm McRae in 2022
Actress Anya Taylor-Joy has confirmed that she secretly tied the knot with her partner Malcolm McRae in New Orleans back in 2022.
The star of “The Queen’s Gambit” revealed to her fans that she married her “best friend” in a ceremony held on April Fools Day two years ago.
“The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Taylor-Joy shared photos and videos from the vampire-themed wedding, which included cakes shaped like human hearts that were “anatomically correct.”
“Happy second (first) anniversary my love… you’re the coolest,” the actress captioned the post.
In one of the photos, Taylor-Joy referred to herself as “the vampire Lestat,” a nod to the character from Anne Rice’s novel “Interview with the Vampire,” which is famously set in New Orleans.
Notable guests at the wedding included model Cara Delevingne and photographer Sebastian Faena, while Dior designed the wedding dress.
On Tuesday, McRae also posted photos from the event on his social media, expressing his love for Taylor-Joy and wishing her a happy two-year anniversary.
Although the couple had a larger wedding celebration with friends in Venice last October, it has now been revealed that their official marriage took place in April 2022.
Since rising to fame with her role in “The Queen’s Gambit,” Taylor-Joy has appeared in several notable films, including “Last Night in Soho,” “The Super Mario Bros Movie,” and “Dune: Part Two.” She is set to star in the upcoming film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.”
