In a Monday statement, Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao called on Japan to fix its “wrongdoing” of semiconductor export limitations.

Wang made the remarks during APEC talks with Japanese Trade Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura on May 26.

Wang said Japan “seriously violated” international economic and trade laws by ignoring China’s strong industrial opposition.

Wang said, “China is willing to work with Japan to promote practical cooperation in key economic and trade areas.”
