Cost of Forever Stamps Are Up

As a people, we have progressed into the digital age. Whether it’s staying in touch with family overseas, paying your bills, or simply emailing your boss, everything is done by a smartphone or through the computer. The age of the pen and paper are slowly fading away but haven’t died out altogether.

In fact, the cost of using a U.S. postage stamp is going to cost you a little bit more. This Sunday the cost of a Forever Stamp went up to 49 cents. This is the first time the cost of stamps has risen since 2015.

When it comes to things like gas in mail trucks, wages, and even maintenance on postal buildings, the Postal Services says the price increase was a necessity.  However, despite the rise in price for Forever Stamps, when it comes to mailing a letter on the home front or internationally the Postal Service says that the weight is going to stay the same for the rest of the year.
