Ellen DeGeneres is taking on a whole new gig with her fame. The businesswoman is adding something else to her list of expertise that may not come as a huge surprise. DeGeneres has decided to launch a new line of products that will reach “from home to fashion to chic wares,” according to Women’s Wear Daily.
The new brand will be called “E.D.,” which is a nickname that was given to DeGeneres by wife Portia de Rossi. Today reported that DeGeneres has teamed up with J. Christopher Burch, the CEO of Burch Creative Capital and founder of C. Wonder, to make the line a huge success.
“My strategy in everything I do is to work with incredible people,” Burch told WWD in an interview. “I want to work with the most talented, extraordinary, unusual and creative people in the world.”
DeGeneres is just as enthralled to work with Burch as he is with her.
“I’m so excited to work with Chris and our incredibly talented team on this new venture. I’ve always wanted to launch a line of home goods, clothing and accessories,” she said, according to Today.
The two designers have yet to release details regarding the line’s specifics. However, Vanity Fair reported that DeGeneres has set a teaser collection to be released right around the holidays with the full debut happening in spring 2015. Will this new business live up to everyone’s hopes?
DeGeneres has no doubt it will surpass the highest of expectations.
“I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t want it to be the biggest brand name that you can imagine,” she told WWD.
