German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said Wednesday’s G7 summit would focus on multinational supply chains.

Wednesday’s World Bank and IMF Spring meetings in Washington will include a G7 summit.

The finance minister said the G7 gathering would discuss high inflation and financial stability.

Washington will host the G20 on Wednesday evening. Lindner said the major theme would be poorer nations’ heavy debt, with China being the biggest creditor.

A person familiar with the discussions said China would withdraw its demand for multilateral development banks to share losses with other creditors in sovereign debt restructurings for impoverished nations.

“China and all non-governamental actors need to be reminded of their responsibility,” Lindner added.
