It’s official. Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto V will launch on both the PS4 and Xbox One on November 18. GTA V, an open-world game, has racked up tons of awards, including 2013 VGX Awards for Game of the Year and Best Soundtrack. Only 24 hours after its release in September 2013, GTAV pulled in $800M in worldwide revenue. In less than three months, 29 million copies were sold. GTA V also boasts a coveted achievement; it stands as the fastest intellectual property to reach $1B in revenue.
Unfortunately for PC gamers, GTA V has been pushed all the way back to January 27. Rockstar is yet to explain the massive delay for the PC form of GTA V, but they did promise that the game will be updated and loaded with new weapons, thicker traffic patterns across Los Santos and scores of new activities. More than 100 songs have been added to bump while you’re behind the wheel.
Grand Theft Auto V is driven by three distinct characters with their own missions and story-lines. The setting is Los Santos, a fictitious city, but the parallels between Los Santos and Los Angeles aren’t at all accident. Those who pre-order the game get a sweet bonus; one million dollars of in-game cash. Rockstar’s online, open-world platform Grand Theft Auto Online will be available on all the next-generation consoles. GTA Online players will be able to port their progress and characters to the PS4, Xbox One, or the PC version after January 27.
