IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, has signed a management agreement with JADEER GROUP to develop Hotel Indigo Cairo New Administrative Capital, marking another milestone in the expansion of IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Egypt.
The newly announced property will feature 140 keys and form part of a mixed-use development within Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, located east of Greater Cairo. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2033 and is designed to serve the area’s rapidly expanding business, governmental, and residential communities, addressing both corporate and leisure travel demand.
Hotel Indigo’s distinctive lifestyle positioning and emphasis on neighbourhood storytelling make the brand particularly well suited to the New Capital’s evolving urban fabric. As the city continues to emerge as Egypt’s future administrative and commercial centre, the hotel is expected to play a key role in supporting its growing hospitality needs.
The New Administrative Capital represents one of Egypt’s most ambitious national development projects. Conceived as a smart, master-planned city, it incorporates advanced infrastructure, designated government and diplomatic districts, premium residential neighbourhoods, and large-scale commercial and mixed-use developments. With strong connectivity to Cairo via major highways and planned transportation networks, alongside an expanding pipeline of cultural, retail, and lifestyle destinations, the New Capital is positioned to become a major driver of hospitality demand in the country.
Commenting on the signing, Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for India, the Middle East and Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said that Egypt remains a priority growth market for the group. He noted that the New Capital presents a significant opportunity as the country’s future administrative and business hub, adding that Hotel Indigo’s lifestyle-led proposition aligns naturally with the destination’s urban transformation. Mattar also highlighted IHG’s satisfaction in continuing its collaboration with JADEER GROUP and further strengthening its footprint in the market.
Mahmoud Abou Al Khair, Chairman of JADEER GROUP, said the expanded partnership reflects the developer’s confidence in IHG’s global expertise and diverse brand portfolio. He explained that following the signing of Hotel Indigo New Cairo last year, the addition of Hotel Indigo Cairo New Administrative Capital aligns with JADEER GROUP’s strategy to develop distinctive mixed-use destinations. He added that the brand’s emphasis on design, culture, and neighbourhood identity is expected to resonate strongly within the New Capital.
As one of IHG’s flagship lifestyle brands, Hotel Indigo offers guests immersive experiences rooted in local culture and surroundings. Each property is individually designed to reflect the character of its neighbourhood, shaping its interiors, guest experiences, and locally inspired food and beverage concepts. In keeping with this approach, Hotel Indigo Cairo New Administrative Capital will draw inspiration from its immediate environment, celebrating the city’s emerging urban identity through design and curated experiences.
The hotel aims to deliver a lifestyle-driven stay that connects guests with the creativity, culture, and energy of the New Capital, while meeting the needs of both business and leisure travellers.
This signing further builds on the established relationship between IHG and JADEER GROUP, following the announcement of Hotel Indigo New Cairo in September 2025, and underscores the owner’s continued confidence in IHG’s lifestyle brands.
The project also strengthens IHG’s growing presence within the New Administrative Capital, complementing the group’s existing development pipeline in the area, which includes InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn properties.
Currently, IHG operates nine hotels in Egypt across four brands — InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites — with a robust pipeline of 23 additional hotels scheduled to open in the coming years, reinforcing the group’s long-term commitment to Egypt’s hospitality sector.
