Michelin (MICP.PA) sold its Russia Tyre Manufacturing Company (MRTMC) and Camso CIS to Power International Tires, a Russian distributor, on Friday.

The group said the local authorities-approved agreement would save 250 jobs, mostly at Michelin’s sole Russian plant in Davydovo.

Michelin stated that transferring all employees to Power International Tire was impractical, so those who wanted to go may “under good conditions.”
The French company opened its first production factory in Russia in 2004. However, after Moscow invaded Ukraine, it suspended industrial activities and exports to Russia last year.

Michelin reported a 25% drop in first-quarter volumes in April due to its Russia exit.
