College at Brooklyn, CUNY Sociology professor Gregory Smithsimon has speculated that US Vice President Kamala Harris, who made a public promise on Sunday to unseat Donald Trump and secure the Democratic candidacy, may be in a strong position to challenge the Republican nominee. “What’s striking is that the Republicans have not found things to grab onto to attack Harris with,” according to him. In addition, Smithsimon stated his belief that Biden’s party would be unable to sustain a drawn-out dispute on the succession to the presidency from the octogenarian. “It’s going to be imperative that the Democrats coalesce around someone almost immediately,” according to him. “This only works if it doesn’t lead to disorder among the party.”
