Ukraine is working on a new peace plan to present to the White House after President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected giving up any territory to Russia.
Zelensky said Ukraine has no legal or moral right to give up territory under its constitution or international law after meeting with European and NATO leaders. He told the US that a new proposal would be discussed by Tuesday.
This move follows failed weekend talks between US and Ukrainian negotiators. Former US President Trump claimed Russia supported the US-backed plan and suggested Zelensky was blocking a deal, which raised concerns among European allies.
Zelensky is expected to visit leaders in London, Brussels, and Italy to discuss support and territorial issues. While some said the US plan was reduced to 20 points, Zelensky insisted that no territory was lost, including the Donbas region and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.
Meanwhile, fighting continues. Russia claims to have made gains near Pokrovsk, but Ukraine denies this. Overnight missile and drone attacks left parts of Sumy without power, and the death toll from an earlier strike on Ternopil has risen to 38, including eight children.
