On Monday, Volkswagen-owned Czech automaker Skoda Auto reported a 60.8% increase in first-quarter operating profit to 542 million euros ($598 million) and a 33% increase in revenue to 6.8 billion euros.

Skoda earlier announced 12.6% global delivery growth. Demand was stable, and sales in southern and western Europe increased delivery, the business said.

Skoda hopes to rebound this year from component shortages that have slowed delivery and waiting periods for three years.

“After recent external influences that negatively impacted the company’s financial results, Skoda Auto was able to reverse this trend and steer back on course,” it stated.

Skoda reported deliveries of its all-electric Enyaq jumped 40.7%.
