Telstra Group (TLS.AX), Australia’s largest telecom company, will work with Elon Musk’s Starlink to provide rural Australians with fixed broadband and voice services.

In a blog post, the telecommunications giant stated it would package home phone and Starlink broadband for Australians.

“The addition of Starlink will provide an additional connectivity option for people and businesses in rural and remote locations,” the company said.

Telstra anticipates offering the new services to users and businesses by year’s end.

It promises faster downloads than copper-based Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines.

Musk’s SpaceX operates Starlink, a fast-growing network of over 3,500 low-Earth orbit satellites that can connect remote places.
