The tech enthusiasts at the AWS re:Invent conference in Las Vegas attended it and queued to experience a new AI-driven perfume. At the conference in Las Vegas, visitors responded to voice queries about tastes and moods. The AI mixed up to 30 scent components—mint, sandalwood, and sage—which human perfumers would then mix into a finished perfume.

One of the waiters, Peter Nikoloff, who waited almost two hours, said that the experience was totally worth it, but others were not that impressed by the results. Amazon’s AI fragrance lab shows AI’s creative potential in non-tech uses. The broader capability of AI in software development, cloud computing, and generative modeling is also mentioned in the conference, and Amazon has larger capabilities in this area.
