In a Tuesday filing, Albertsons Companies Inc (ACI.N) reaffirmed it would dispose of some shops controlled by the business and Kroger Inc (KR.N) to get regulatory approval for the combination.

Last month, Reuters reported, citing sources, that the supermarket operators were pursuing plans to sell 250 to 300 outlets to ease U.S. antitrust concerns over their combination.

Several U.S. legislators and consumer advocacy organizations want the FTC to reject Kroger’s $24.6 billion acquisition of Albertsons due to worries it will raise supermarket costs.
