Alex Arkhangelskiy is the CEO and Co-Founder of brake free technologies. Brake free designs helmet accessories to make riders more visible and safer on the road. The helmet is wireless and senses when a bike reduces speed. It also has a detachable feature that allows many users or helmets to use the same unit.
The aim of brake free technologies was to design a helmet that would assist motorists in seeing if a biker was reducing his speed on the road. This is because the brake lights on the bike tail are small, and sometimes they do not respond while braking. Therefore, the helmet provides a secondary visual and quicker assessment of speed.
I was born in Colorado in the United States. I went to San Jose University, where I got my degree in business entrepreneurship in 2013. Also, I worked as a retail sales consultant in Parrot Cellular company. I met and exceeded the sales goals and performed opening and closing manager duties.
In 2014, Henry Li and I started the brake free company. Before, Henry worked for several companies such as Wolfe Engineering, zSpace 3D, and Fitbit as a mechanical engineer. I had to make strong business decisions and gather information to make a product that the riders will need to protect them from accidental head damage and show when they are reducing their speed.
Currently, the companies focus is to help the problem of visibility affecting scooter and motorcycle riders. Due to the natural lack of visibility, the riders are in great danger. Currently, the trends in motorcycles make the small brake lights on them smaller. The existing products lack several marks like ease of use, style, and functionality. Brake free uses design and technology to solve this problem.
The company looks forward to making a well-designed and easy-to-use accessory that mounts to any helmet style. Brake free uses cutting-edge ultra slim LED technology to improve riders’ visibility. The design allows the technology to become a part of the rider’s helmet. The company endorsed me to gain experience in team management and networking. For the past three years, the company has been my labor of work.
I learned about dog dermatology and methods for de-shedding and helped in building a new de-shedding tool for dogs. The product is cheaper more efficient in de-shedding. The product will soon be in the market and will compete with the other de-shedding products.
When thinking of a business to start, you should always look for the gaps in the business society. Then try to figure out how you can fill them. When making a plan, you should always lean on your strength and do what you love the most. Also, you should have experts surrounding you for you to have support in areas you have difficulties with. Besides, you should always gather information and opinions from your advisors. You should take time to go through them and determine what opinions are worth it and what should be left unused.
