Just overnight the Disney/Marvel’s sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron has hit record highs earning $27.6 million on their opening night Thursday April 30th to Friday May 1st.
Deadline reported hearing an earning between $94 to $97 million for the movie’s opening day. Beating out Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II for the biggest opening day at $91.07 million.
The pre-sales alone are the largest in Marvel history. A big step up from their first Avengers movie which created great anticipation for this one.
The total estimated revenue for the movie is projected at $217 to $220 million.
The movie is also becoming big talk on social media. RelishMix reports about 725 million audiences buzzing about the movie on social media platforms.
This makes Avengers the third most talked about movie on social media behind Fast and Furious and The Hunger Games.
The breakdown of outlets is 492 million YouTube views, 176 million Facebook fans and 31 million Twitter follower and subscribers.
The movie is projecting huge sales for the Disney/Marvel company and with the first night already making record setting sales there is no doubt they will do so.
