Britain’s fresh sanctions against Russia for the Ukrainian crisis targeted “financial fixers” for Roman Abramovich and Alisher Usmanov.

On Wednesday, Britain’s Foreign Office said the additional restrictions targeted anybody helping the two famous businessmen avoid financial fines.

“We are tightening the net on the Russian oligarchs and those who help them hide their money for war,” foreign minister James Cleverly said. “We’ll deny them hidden assets.”

The government sanctioned Cypriot “professional enablers” Demetris Ioannides and Christodoulos Vassiliades for building offshore entities and trusts.

Britain has sanctioned 1,550 Russians and 180 organizations and restricted billions of pounds in assets to punish Moscow for the European crisis.
