EA Launches Gaming Streaming Service

Heard of Netflix? If not, you must be living under a rock. Well, now Electronic Arts is looking to jump on the subscription-based streaming train by launching their very own video game streaming service. For $30 a year, gamers can access a limited amount of popular EA-produced video games that include FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, and Battlefield 4. What’s the catch? The service is only available on Xbox One.

Devoted gamers know that a new release comes with a starting price tag of $60. And while those with serious gaming tendencies might not mind shelling out that kind of cash seven to ten times a year, the majority of users are not. It is this mindset that has EA thinking that streaming might be the way to go.

Though the streaming titles are limited presently, the service should be an instant smash for sports gamers. Those who are die-hard fans of titles such as Madden and FIFA know that the changes from year to year are for the most part quite miniscule. Yet, to stay with the times and the most current rosters, fans fork over their hard-earned dough year after year.

Another benefit of subscribing to EA’s budding service is that users are granted access to the big titles like NHL, Madden and FIFA before they are released to the general public. At the moment, the service is still in its beta phase and has only been extended to a very limited number of Xbox One users. No official full-scale launch date has been released, but this is one service that should have no problem gaining ground.
