Mexican president says EU leaders will revise trade accord quickly. After meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador tweeted Thursday that Mexico and the EU would rapidly finish an updated free trade accord.

The Mexican administration says both sides want an agreement by year’s end.

The statement stated Lopez Obrador and Von der Leyen discussed shared issues like immigration, inflation, food security, and energy.

The two presidents also recognized Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Von der Leyen’s Latin American journey concludes in Mexico.
