On Thursday, a senior parliamentarian told business publication Vedomosti that Moscow markets would restrict shares in “unfriendly” defense businesses.

Vedomosti quoted the first deputy chair of the State Duma’s financial markets commission, Konstantin Bakharev, as calling the lack of a ban “unacceptable and amoral.” The tabloid said Russia’s finance ministry supported the prohibition.

Russia issued its “unfriendly” nations list in 2021. The US, all EU member states, and several other nations have sanctioned Moscow for the Ukraine war.
