On Monday, the Ukrainian ground forces commander stated that Russian soldiers were using “scorched earth” tactics in Bakhmut, demolishing houses and positions with air strikes and artillery.

Russia’s full-scale invasion began in February 2022 with a major fight in Bakhmut, a small city in Donetsk.

“The adversary used Syrian scorched earth techniques. Airstrikes and artillery are demolishing structures and positions “declared Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Ukraine’s ground forces commander.

He stated Ukraine’s Bakhmut defense persisted.
“The situation is challenging but controlled,” he told Ukraine’s Media Military Centre.

He said Russia’s Wagner military group had grown “exhausted” and was deploying special troops and airborne assault groups to attack the city.
