Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, said on Thursday that he had arrived in Granada, Spain, for the European Political Community Summit, a gathering created following Russia’s invasion to promote collaboration among more than 40 nations.
After U.S. President Joe Biden expressed concerns that Republican infighting in Congress may harm American policy on providing funding to Kyiv, the European leaders meeting in Granada are likely to reassure Zelenskiy of long-term support.
Zelenskiy stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Our shared objective is to ensure the security and stability of our common European home.” “We are collaborating with partners to strengthen the regional security component of the European security architecture. Ukraine has strong suggestions in this area.
“We will pay special attention to the Black Sea region as well as our joint efforts to strengthen global food security and freedom of navigation,” he declared.
In July, Russia reneged on a contract that had permitted Ukraine to export food supplies securely across the Black Sea, which has historically been Kyiv’s principal export route. In response, Ukraine established a temporary “humanitarian corridor” for cargo ships, and since then, several ships have departed from Ukraine’s Black Sea ports.
“Strengthening air defense is Ukraine’s top priority, particularly as winter approaches. New agreements with partners are already in the works, and we look forward to their approval and execution, said Zelenskiy.
He did not provide any further information, but Ukraine, largely dependent on its Western partners for armaments, is concerned that Russia would launch more airstrikes this winter on energy installations. Zelenskiy continued, “Ukraine and Europe should benefit from this day.
