Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne contacted French junior social affairs minister Marlene Schiappa to voice her unhappiness for appearing in a white Playboy outfit.

The furor comes amid widespread dissatisfaction over pension changes.

Schiappa, who banned catcalling and street harassment, discusses women’s and Gay rights in a 12-page interview for Playboy’s cover.

“Always defending women’s body control. France liberates women. Respectfully, haters and hypocrites “Schiappa tweeted her defense over the weekend.

During the weekend, Borne contacted Schiappa to warn the interview was “not at all suitable, all the more so in the current era,” La Parisien said.

Jean-Luc Melenchon, who finished third in the 2022 presidential election, tweeted, “France is going off the rails” after Schiappa’s Playboy cover and Macron’s Pif Gadget interview. La Parisien says the Playboy edition is available on April 8.
