Court documents reveal that Russian automaker GAZ (GAZA.MM) has sued Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) for 15.6 billion roubles ($200.5 million).

On Friday, the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Arbitration Court received the unpublished case.

GAZ didn’t answer Reuters’ request for comment. Volkswagen declined to comment.
GAZ launched two lawsuits against VW earlier this year, claiming that VW’s withdrawal from the Russian market had jeopardized its interests.

In April, a judge reversed its order to freeze Volkswagen’s Russian assets pending legal proceedings.

Volkswagen is considering selling its Russian assets, including its flagship facility in Kaluga, which can produce 225,000 vehicles annually. However, the Russian government’s consent is needed.
