A New Video Release by Lexus Shows a Working Hover Board

The levitating board used for personal transportation in the films could become a reality, according to a video released by Lexus. The video shows a working prototype of the hover board which they named Slide. The promo video was first released in June by Lexus and has been teasing people with short clips.

‘There is no such thing as impossible, it’s just a matter of figuring out how,” said Haruhiko Tanahashi, Lexus Chief Engineer.

There is a catch, however as the hover board can’t hover on just any surface. Using a specially constructed skate park built over some manner of ferrous material, skater Ross McGouran attempts a railslide, does some falling off, gets chased around by a drone and is not in contact with the surface of the wall.

It works using a combination of superconductors, magnets and liquid nitrogen.

Ross McGouran, a professional skateboarder, says riding one is “like floating on air.” In the latest video, we see him as a “hover board test pilot.”

But the most important part of all this is that just like it was predicted in the film Back to the Future, the hover boards have rightfully been invented in the year 2015 as predicted.
