Almost everyone admires having an electric vehicle. The speed, velocity, sound, and comfort seem to be okay. It is something most buyers comment on the Tesla website. Most of them are always satisfied with their Model 3 car. The electric vehicles discussions are very technical, the report by bbc.

Most companies are working towards having a positive impact on climate change. Using renewable energy methods is one of them. Hence, Tesla went ahead to build electric cars. But do those vehicles protect the environment fully? Do they emit any gas into the environment?

According to an analysis, a new electric car will have to travel 13500 miles to stop gas emissions. This means it similarly pollutes the environment. Reuters always collects data to calculate the lifetime emissions of several vehicles. The government is pushing companies to achieve better climatic conservation methods, the report by cnbc.

Argonne Laboratory investigated the electric vehicle battery and the metals used to manufacture it. Aluminum and plastic do burn to produce harmful gas to the environment.

The principle of Argon said EV generates more carbon than combustion engine cars. There is the extraction of minerals from electric vehicles batteries which are harmful. Although the gas ends after a certain period, it varies from one EV to another. The amount of carbon gas can be too much. Factors like the size of EVs will determine the total carbon released. Also, the power that source of power used in charging the vehicle has an impact on gas emission.

Break-even comparison

Among the variables used to test were 54KWh battery, cobalt, and aluminum material. Furthermore, the test was done using Tesla 3 car. The comparison was between EV and gasoline-fueled Toyota. Both vehicles traveled a distance of 173,151 miles. The Toyota Corolla consumed one gallon of 33 miles.

Tesla EV, driving on along Norway streets, breaks down after 8400 miles. But it’s only possible if it uses electricity generated by renewable hydroelectric power. Hence, the source of power is a great player in determining the lifespan of electric vehicles.

Coal is a major producer of power in many countries, including Poland and China. To get carbon power, you can travel a distance of 78700miles.

A medium-size EV produces 47g of carbon dioxide per mile. This happens during the extraction and production process. So, the EV can produce a total of 8.1 million grams before the first customer buys it. Only 32g/mile gets generated by gasoline vehicles. So, the first client can receive it after it has generated a total of 5.5 million grams of gas.

But over a 12-year life span, EV starts generating less carbon. For example, AN old EV charged with coal-fired will produce 0.5 million fewer grams than a gasoline car. Senior Scientist Michael Wang confirmed this report.

GREET helps measure carbon dioxide

The two organization uses GREET in different ways. The EPA uses it to evaluate the quality standards of renewable energy.  EPA has developed an online program where consumers can estimate emissions done by EVs. Residents will know the amount of gas emitted in their area. California Air Resources uses GREET in assessing companies that comply with low-carbon standards.

HIS Markit in Europe also conducted an analysis based on EV and gasoline cars. Their results concur with Reuters. Such provides indisputable evidence. Hence, the government has the power to come in to pass their laws. Breakdown-point in carbon emissions from an EV took almost 17000 average miles. But this varied from one country to another.

Vijay said the electric vehicle provides a better future, the report by carbon. Their results after the long term are positive and very beneficial.  He believes someone will invent a solution for the CO2 released in the early stages.

More EV to be manufactured or not

A report by Lieg Research university proved that the break-even point of an EV ranges between 67000 km – 151000 km. Yet, the university researcher said he conducted his research.

Many people called upon Tesla and other companies to continue producing electric vehicles. But some individual believes they aren’t cleaner as expected. However, there is considerable research being conducted to find a better solution.
