Jessica Alba, who is known for her films like Fantastic Four, Into the Blue, Sin City and many more, apparently has another talent. Alba, who is a 34 year old mother of two, is also a talented business woman.

Alba co-founded ‘The Honest Company’ in the year 2011 with her business partner Brian Lee. The company produces eco-friendly baby diapers, non-toxic baby products, vitamins and other goods.

Today in 2015, the actress has many reasons to celebrate; one of them is that ‘The Honest Company’ is a big success indeed. Alba is the owner of approximately 20% of the company and has now made about $200 million. She will most likely earn a spot on the “Forbes America’s Richest Self-Made Women” list.

The idea struck her when she was engaged to her then fiancée Cash Warren and expecting their first child together. Alba used a baby detergent to pre-wash the baby’s clothes when she has an allergic reaction to the detergent.

They say necessity is the mother of invention and mother to be Jessica Alba had just invented an idea that would make her successful. Not just successful with films, but guarantee her a very long term success.

“The Honest Company” made $10 million in revenue in the year 2012. It made $150 million in 2014 and the predictions are that the firm will earn more than $200 million by the end of this year.

When asked about her idea for the company, Alba said,

“I felt like my needs weren’t being met as a modern person. I want beautiful design like everybody else. But it shouldn’t be premium-priced, and it should, of course, be safe.”
