Venezuela expects to attract nearly $76 billion in investment into its oil and gas industry over the next five years as the country seeks to increase energy production and draw more private-sector capital.
Acting President Delcy Rodríguez announced the projected investment on Saturday during the closing session of an energy conference in Maracaibo, the capital of oil-producing Zulia state.
The event brought together more than 150 domestic and international companies to discuss investment opportunities and strategies for reviving Venezuela’s oil and gas production.
The proposed investment represents a significant ambition for a country seeking to rebuild its energy industry and unlock more value from its substantial oil resources. Attracting private capital will be central to efforts to expand production, improve operations and support the sector’s recovery.
The announcement signals Venezuela’s intention to position its oil and gas industry as a major destination for future investment. However, the scale of the planned funding will depend on the country’s ability to secure commitments from investors and translate interest into projects that can deliver sustained growth in energy output.
