Atheer Labs, Inc. is developing wearable computer glasses that can display information over users’ real environments, like with Google Glass, but Atheer’s glasses will have much more advanced displays that can project 3D images.

Whether viewing three-dimensional diagrams or placing two-dimensional text boxes three-dimensionally in the space around the room, Atheer’s glasses allow users to fully immerse the data into their lives.

The glasses have a sensor built in that allows users to move and manipulate the content with hand motions. They can pull up displays, rotate them, alter them, as well as move them aside and remove them by moving their hands. To the users, it appears as if they are reaching out and touching the data.

“In certain cases, people need to do something in the physical world, but they also need information or have to interact with the digital world,” Chief Technology Officer Allen Yang said, according to TechCrunch.

In addition to providing more technologically immersed home living, Atheer views its product as very practical for certain work fields where a person may need to manipulate information but has no access to a keyboard or tablet. For instance, doctors in surgery can view real-time data updates on their patient’s vitals while still focusing on the patient before them. Atheer also has looked into industrial fields, like workers and foremen on oil rigs.

“We’ve identified a number of these companies from airspace and industrial and machine companies, and we’re engaging with them,” Co-Founder Soulaiman Itani said. “This could revolutionize the workflow for large companies.”

Atheer has posted a video on its Indiegogo account, which has raised nearly $215,000 since February. The video displays the potential changes to home living that users could experience with Atheer’s product.
