Sherisse Hawkins is a proud mother with a creative mind that is always ready to absorb more engineering facts. The lady has a strong background in the engineering field.

Sherisse Hawkins can be described as a learner, motivational speaker, and successful builder. She has found two companies, Pagedip and Beneath the Ink, but she sold one to support the other. Her experience in startups, software development, and vendor management has made Sherisse Hawkins secure opportunities worth millions.

I am a proud alumnus of two popular universities. First, I did my bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering for five years at the University of Arizona. Then, two years later, I joined Colorado Builder University to take a master’s in Engineering management. I was still young. I experimented with many paths to find the right one. Ideas were too much, but implementing them needed more knowledge.

Immediately after my master’s, I secured a job at US West company as a system engineer in the engineering department. My role was to ensure there was end-to-end encryption of special products. Furthermore, I was in charge of all the video delivery platforms in the company. After two years, I quit my job.

In 1996, I got an offer from DiviCom & Harmonic as a Senior Director of System Architecture. Whenever there was a product, I led managers and system architects to accelerate the installation of network and fiber. As a result, we had a positive impact within a short period. Clients from Australia, Europe, South, and North America called us to install the network. Through referrals, we made millions in revenue.

After a successful six years with DiviCom, I took a short break. Within a few months, Time Warner Cable Advanced Technologies was looking for a new Vice president of Software Development. I have always yearned to work with great technological minds, and here comes the chance. My application was successful, and I got the opportunity. I sat in between clients and skilled technicians at the company to ensure the product met expectations. In addition, we ensured there was enough hardware and software to support our skilled expertise in building high-quality products.

Exactly on April 1st, 2012, I stopped working with the company. It was time to explore the new journey of running my own company. I had various ideas, so I collected a team of developers to create a certain tool for my company. The product was used to help authors come up with clean biographies, videos, and posts to make their page look clear for easy readability.

I launched Beneath the Ink in November 2012 at Greater Denver in the US. Within the first six months, I struggled to market my product. But after some time, I got a lot of traffic. In addition, I got more positive reviews on how my product increased the reading experience on many websites.

In 2015, I got a call from Shark Tank to explain my company. I was able to explain the publishing industry’s future, where everything would be done easily online without looking for a company. They appreciated my hard work in identifying a gap in the digital reading industry.

While interacting and working with developers from Time Warner Cable and in my company, I learned about computer programming languages. As a result, I became skilled in web and mobile development with PHP, HTL5, CSS3, and JavaScript. I felt good about giving a computer instructions to perform certain functions. I sold Beneath the Ink in 2016 to set up another.

My team moved together into the new startup I created, named Pagedip. We created another software that helped the business develop creative designs and organize content for customers and staff members. I was solving the issue of too many papers in the office. When using Pagedip, you are sure of illuminating, simple and engaging content for your readers. Since 2016, my company has done great things. We are still pushing, and I am very comfortable running my business without external pressure.

To a younger Sherisse Hawkins, learning new things will open up more opportunities in your life. When you are still in your 20s, you either learn on the job or earn. So either of them is very important. Be patient and work hard; everything will come to order.
